Sometimes people believe that Christian ministries on campus are just for a particular group of people from a specific denomination or religious perspective. That is usually not as much the case as one might think. While many students in Cru do share a commitment to the beliefs of historic Christianity, Cru is not just for people who self-identify as Christians…
Cru is for doubters
You might have doubts or questions about God or the Bible. Maybe you are interested in processing those doubts with someone who will listen. Cru is a place where it is OK to ask questions and be uncertain. We offer the chance for students to explore Christianity in a peer environment, at your own pace. You don’t have to share our Christian beliefs to be involved with Cru.
Cru is for believers
It’s probably obvious that as an inter-denominational, evangelical Christian ministry, Cru is also a place for those who profess faith in Christ. We seek to be a ministry where even the most mature Christian students are challenged to grow in their faith and their commitment to Christ during their years of involvement with us.
Cru is for sinners
Cru is not full of people who have it together or who don’t struggle with real problems. Cru is comprised of insecure and selfish people who have embarrassing secrets and can’t figure life out much of the time. Some of us have made really big mistakes in our lives and struggle with guilt and shame. In other words, if you have “issues,” you are pre-qualified to be part of this community. Yet despite our brokenness, we are filled with hope because we are convinced that God loves us and is changing us into the kinds of people he wants us to be. Don’t let your struggles keep you away. Come as you are. You are welcome here.
